The Hobart 00-087711-153-1 Door Switch is a micro push button that regulates the movement of electrical current to a motor. When the button is pressed, it closes an electrical circuit and power can flow and when released it opens the circuit and the power stops. It is usually mounted in the housing of a door or lid on food preparation equipment. This is a 1.5 to 2 horsepower rated motor capable of operating up to 10 amperes of alternating current at 125 or 250 volts. The purpose of this switch is to make sure that equipment is only run when the door or lid is firmly closed, which is an essential feature in most commercial kitchen machines.
