Federal Industries 32-18245 Thermo Expansion Valve(TXV)

The Federal Industries 32-18245 Thermo Expansion Valve(TXV) controls the flow of refrigerant by detecting temperature variation and varying the metering element. A sensing bulb is placed internally to detect the temperature of the evaporator outlet and send the pressure changes via a capillary tube to a diaphragm that adjusts the valve opening in response to changes in thermal load in the system to provide constant adjustment under different conditions. In refrigeration circuits, it is normally placed between the liquid line and the evaporator inlet and is used to meter the entry of refrigerant into the coil section to facilitate stable evaporative operation and control refrigerant distribution.
