The Southbend 1008729 Orifice Hood is a gas flow control fitting that is used in commercial range burners. It has a 29 orifice opening that accurately measures gas in the supply manifold to flow into the burner to be burned. The hood is mounted at the burner inlet to make sure that the proper amount of fuel is introduced to the burner to ensure a steady ignition and even distribution of the heat. This part is also frequently changed when dealing with flame anomalies, making gas type changes or returning to the equipment specification.
