The American Range A11100 Thermocouple is 18 inch flame sensing unit that is used in commercial cooking equipment of 1980 Series. Heat on the pilot flame produces a 20-30 millivolt signal which can be used to keep the gas valve energized during operation. This thermocouple is mounted in the pilot burner assembly and is to be found in foodservice gas ranges and ovens. Its use in the system is to detect flame and to make sure that gas flow is cut off in case the pilot flame is not there.

Installation Steps

Step1: Turn off the gas supply and disconnect power to the appliance.

Step2: Remove the old thermocouple from the pilot assembly.

Step3: Inspect the pilot bracket and gas fittings for wear or corrosion.

Step4: Insert the new thermocouple into the pilot flame bracket.

Step5: Secure it with the mounting screw provided.

Step6: Attach the thermocouple nut to the gas valve inlet.

Step7: Turn on gas and test the pilot flame to ensure proper detection.

Step8: Confirm the thermocouple shuts off gas when the flame goes out.
