The Southbend 1092000 thrust bearing is a mechanical support component that is applied to manage the axial forces in the rotating components of the oven. It works by providing a low friction surface that guides and stabilizes the moving parts that maintains the right position of the parts as the oven is operating. This bearing is fitted to the inner drive or motor assembly where the forces of thrust are applied and assists in the rotation and reduces wear of the other components. It is installed in commercial kitchens when in service to make sure that there is appropriate movement and load distribution.
