The Blodgett Z1182580 Thermocouple is a gas sensing element, that is used in 1970 Series equipment. It has a 24 inch length and 20-30 millivolt range of output, which detects the presence of pilot flame and generates a signal that keeps the gas valve open. The sensing tip is placed in the pilot flame and the other end of the sensing tip is attached to the control valve. This thermocouple is used in commercial cooking processes to provide safe Star Mfgt up, and continued operation by cutting off the gas supply in the event of flame failure to ensure that the heating conditions remain controlled during the service period.
