The Jackson 048102001100 Drain Solenoid 120V is designed to work on the concept of an electromagnetic coil to activate an internal plunger mechanism to open and close a valve seat to allow the controlled discharge of water through the unit. The solenoid coil, when connected, forms a magnetic field that pulls the plunger upwards, permitting flow through the drain path and when the electrical power is switched off, it releases the plunger to resume the closed position and prevent drainage. It is fitted in commercial ware washing equipment drain assemblies to control wastewater discharge in the system.
