The Scotsman 11-0493-01 Ice Machine Hot Gas Valve with coil works by regulating the flow of hot refrigerant gas in the defrost cycle opening and closing on electrical signals. The coil triggers the valve mechanism, which permits the hot gas to pass around the condenser and into the evaporator to eliminate the frost. It is usually mounted in the refrigeration loop close to the compressor and evaporator unit in the ice machine. This component is designed to operate on 220Vsystems and is controlling temperature changes when ice is being produced and when defrosting.
