The Hobart 854646-1 Thermocouple is a temperature-sensing component that is used to sense the heat from a pilot flame and generate a small electrical signal to, ensure the burner operates properly. It does so by transforming the difference in temperature at the sensing junction into voltage which is then used by the appliance's control system to ensure the presence of the flame and the safe operation of the gas flow. The thermocouple is used inside the heating or burner unit of commercial cooking equipment, such as some gas and electric braising pans.
