The Blodgett 53009 Oven Ignition Module is a controlled spark generator that supplies compatible ovens with ignition in gas burners. It works by discharging timed electrical pulses to electrodes to create a spark which ignites the fuel supply. The module is mounted in the oven control compartment, and the electrodes of the burners and the wiring connections are aligned. It connects to the gas supply and control circuitry to synchronize ignition cycles. In commercial cooking ovens, the ignition module is applied organized burner initiation to initiate heating cycles that ensure cooking is carried out.
