The Southbend SOU1183200 Gas Ignitor is an essential component that is used in the production of a controlled spark to initiate combustion in gas-fired systems. It operates by generating an electrical discharge at the ignition point when the signal of the control module is received and allows gas to light steadily. The ignitor is also mounted near the burner assembly and the position of the ignitor is aligned to the direction of the gas flow to ensure a consistent ignition. This element belongs to the ignition cycle which enables efficient start-up and contributes to the accomplishment of safe operation replacement servicing.
