The Southbend SOU3SRV8-1 Safety Relief Valve 3/4 35 PSI works by checking the internal pressure and opening when a pre-set pressure is met to avoid over-accumulation in the line and controlled venting during pressure spikes in commercial heating systems. It reacts to the pressure variations by a calibrated spring system that discharges fluid or steam to stabilize the working conditions. The mechanism is automatic and re-establishes itself when the pressure levels have returned to the normal operating range. The valve is mounted in pressurized piping systems where the discharge must be controlled to regulate the security of the system.
