The Fisher Manufacturing FIS71463 Backflow Preventer Lead Free SS 3/4" is a plumbing control component for commercial water systems. It is installed in the water supply line to assist prevent back-siphonage, and reverse water flow when pressure changes. During operation the preventer automatically shuts off reverse flow via its built-in valve assembly while permitting the water to flow forward normally. This component is used to maintain sanitary water conditions and protect potable water connections. It is design to ensure the correct direction of water flow and to minimize the potential for contamination due to reverse water pressure.
