The Southbend SOU3SRV9-1 Safety Valve Steam 50 PSI 3/4" is a valve that releases excess steam pressure when it exceeds the set value, allowing the steam pressure to not build up via a spring-loaded mechanism. It open and close the valve assembly in response to fast changes in pressure to control the flow of steam in the system which allow it to respond to the varying loads in the system and prevents overpressure buildup in connected piping section. Located at steam line outlets or pressure control areas where additional steam discharge control is needed.
