The Garland 223242-53 Range Brass Hood Orifice is used to regulate the flow of the gas to be used by burners. It has a 3/8-27 thread and 1/2-inch body length with which it inserts firmly in compatible burner valves. The brass hood enhances uniform dispersion of gases to the burner head. Correct sizing of the orifice aids in proper combustion, flame stability and heat production. This element is usually changed in case of gas conversions, maintenance, or troubleshooting to achieve proper operation of the burner.
