The Star Mfg 2J8579 Pilot Safety Valve with Reducer Bush 1/2 In is a gas system that is installed in compatible equipment to regulate the flow of pilot gas. It is designed to make sure that the gas is only turned on when the pilot flame exists, and it will automatically turn off the flow in the event of flame failure. Designed to be installed properly with 1/2" connections. It is located in the gas line and operates with ignition and sensing parts to sustain its operation. When servicing or repairing a system, replace worn valves to restore the system to its normal operation.
