The Garland GL2200199 Hot Top Valve is a gas flow controller for a cooking range burner, which is controlled by opening and closing an internal valve mechanism. It works by enabling gradual control of fuel flow, which varies the intensity of the burner flame via calibrated internal ports and seals that control the flow of gases while maintaining the same ignition behavior when operating in the range. It is normally mounted in the range control assembly behind the front panel, aligned with the gas manifold system to allow the external knobs to directly control it and to allow the fuel flow to be properly directed.
