The Garland GL4601578 Hot Top Valve is a gas flow control and regulator in a cooking range, which is adjusted by rotary or stem action by changing internal passages in a commercial system. It reacts to the user input of the control knob to adjust flame output and ensure stable burner operation by adjusting the opening of gas passages and pressure distribution across the burner ports between operation cycles. The component is mounted in the range control manifold section, where it connects to the gas supply line and burner assembly to allow the fuel to be properly directed to heating elements in commercial range assemblies.
