The Hobart 836997 Contactor is a 3-pole power switch that is used in commercial foodservice equipment. It has electrical ratings of 40A inductive and 50A resistive at 208/240V to control the flow of electricity to load circuits. This contactor is installed in the electrical control system of the appliance and it reacts to operational signals to either turn on or off heating or power. It is usually changed when doing maintenance to maintain correct electrical operation and even to maintain the equipment's performance.
